Review of TC Oberwerth Koblenz – Personal Experience
I recently visited TC Oberwerth Koblenz and, unfortunately, my experience was far from positive.
To begin with, the club is difficult to reach without a car. It’s practically isolated from public transport, which makes getting there inconvenient unless you drive or take a taxi.
Although the club has many courts, they seemed poorly maintained, which affected the quality of play. The stringing service also felt outdated — done manually and not with modern electric machines, giving the impression that the facilities are not really up to today’s standards.
The bar area was disappointing as well, with limited options and overall low quality. For a club of this size, I expected something better.
Another negative aspect was the attitude of some referees and officials. They came across as impolite, and at times seemed openly biased — especially in matches involving young players, where their favoritism toward German players was quite evident. This creates an uncomfortable and unfair environment, particularly for visiting families and young athletes.
Overall, my experience at TC Oberwerth Koblenz was unpleasant and below expectations. With better management, maintenance, and a more welcoming atmosphere, the club could offer much more — but as it stands now, I would not recommend it.
